i'll be honest. i'm glad we have our first african-american/hawaiian president. i'm always interested when something that hasn't happened before actually occurs. but that is the extent of my interest. i have never really subscribed to the theory that the president has major impact on the economy or the general well-being of the united states. i think i have said it before on this blog. i am a political agnostic. government is necessary but i don't believe that any one person can make a huge difference in things. especially at the presidental level. that is because of the great division of power that the founding fathers put into place. the president can not do anything without the legislature agreeing. and whether we like it or not, the judicial system is going to get involved too if they don't like it.
so, like i said at the beginning, i'm glad something happened today that has never happened before.
